Marshmyst (13th Age)
Towering out of the Marshmyst stands Greensforge keep. Surrounded by a walled village it’s towers are topped with the blue streamers of house Vassal. It’s stone appears new and it’s battlements un-tested. Men at arms wearing the distinctive blue tabards sporting a white dragon’s head walk the curtain wall keeping a watchful eye over comings and goings._
Governor: Lord Garard Vassal
Notes: Greensforge Keep is the seat of power within the Fiefdom. It is a relatively new structure having been completed just 20 years previously. In ages past the lord of the fiefdom resided at Mirrorpool, however, Mirrorpool now lies in ruins having sank partly into the Marshmyst. The keep is not large, but boasts 150 men at arms, a smithy, stables, stores and 2 large living spaces. Lord Vassal’s audience chambers are built beneath ground. Around the keep is a small village, Greensforge, this has a wooden palisade for defence. Greensforge is not a centre of trade but lies on the Wyre – Harvesthall road. The master at arms if Erlan Karnak, a half elf ranger who ensures that his men are not only martially trained but are wise with nature, a must considering the location. Greensforge lies about 10 miles within the Marshmyst close to one of the tributaries of the River Aelwyc. Not far from Greensforge, to the Northwest is Kingsmound, where many of the Vassal’s have been buried, as well as other notables in the times of Underhall. Lord Vassal maintains a considerable amount of wealth, and relics from his adventuring days, including the skull of the dragon Xaxioth, whom the lord slew. The only Inn of note is the ‘Dragon’s Head’ which is well known for it’s Dwarven ale, imported from select breweries in Anvil.
